Jesse Kanda is a director of a digital age. Coming from a background in 3D design and animation, he often incorporates new technology in his films to create unique hyper-real pictures.
Following online success with his short film Dutch Wife (later picked up by Channel 4), he quickly garnered attention within the fashion and music industries. Since then, Jesse has worked on projects and collaborations with Comme des Garçons, Martin Margiela, XL Recordings, Kanye West, FKA twigs and SSENSE.
An excerpt of his film TRAUMA, part of an ongoing project with frequent collaborator Arca, was exhibited at MoMA PS1 in 2013 to rave reviews by New York’s finest. The film features Jesse’s mesmerizing visual style and has been shown in its entirety in various galleries throughout the world since it’s premiere. Jesse continues to take the helm for much of Arca’s content, including the recent music videos for the artist’s tracks “Anoche,” “Reverie,” “Arisen My Senses,” and “Desafío.”
Most recently, Jesse collaborated with Björk on “Mouth Mantra,” a music video and 360° experience shot from inside the singer’s mouth.
Jesse’s accolades include a Grammy nomination for his album artwork for FKA twigs’ breakthrough album “LP1.”
ZEITGUISED is an award winning studio producing exquisite realities, lingering at the tantalizing intersection where art and design, digital and physical space meet.
ZEITGUISED have been influencing synthetic image making since 2001, with an approach connecting formal and conceptual design, oscillating between cerebral and poetic, and driving a character like narrative of shape, color and behaviour relations. Succeeding with a project encompassing VR and 3D printing as early as 2001, ZEITGUISED recently reconnected to their arts and crafts roots with a series of original independent solo projects and artist collaborations in the material world of “phygital” objects.
Manfre & Iker Iturria
Iker started with more than 10 years of experience as a production manager on advertising and has also worked as a designer and assistant director. He has been a production manager for campaigns like: Adidas, Reebok, BMW, Volvo, Marie Claire, Dazed & Confused, COS,Versace, Carolina Herrera, Lacoste… combining it with advertising spots in which he works as an assistant director. He finally took the control of his own creativity to become a director in partnership with Manfre. Together they are the perfect creative team. After many years of experience in cinema, advertising spot as an assistant director, Manfre directed and wrote her first play in co-production with the famous international theater company “La Fura dels Baus”. In 2004 she began to be part of the same company as an assistant director, playwright and producer of stage director, Carlus Padrissa, working in macro shows, opera and performing arts. She began a new stage as coordinator of the concert, performing arts of the CaixaForum museums in throughout Spain.
The signature and talent of this duo lies in its ambition to combine a futuristic and contemporary world which they capture beautifully in the framing.
Being part of various collectives, he has create and participate in performances, audio visual installations adn monochannel pieces.
Due to his activity in different partsof the world has developped a personal lenguage about the social representation of the individual and communities.
Estudio fundado en 2008 en Barcelona por Adelaida Lamas y Roger Amat para dar soporte a proyectos audiovisuales y artísticos. Su interés en toda imagen, entendida como espacio social de construcción de narrativas, se deriva en gran parte de las disciplinas de las que provienen (Arte, Diseño, Psicología, Comunicación Audiovisual) y que encuentran en la práctica artística las conexiones adecuadas para expresarse de forma amplia. Su trabajo no ha de ser entendido sin sus proyectos personales, así como sin las sinergías que establecen en el propio proceso de trabajo con otros artistas y profesionales creativos. Residentes en Hangar en 2011. Han sido responsables de dirigir durante tres años la imagen del programa de nuevos formatos audiovisuales, recientemente desaparecido, Denominació d’Origen, para La Xarxa, siendo premiados en diversas ocasiones por ello. Hoy sus proyectos transitan ampliamente entre las diferentes esferas de la producción audiovisual, desde la televisión al arte contemporáneo. Han formado parte de las agendas culturales de festivales, centros de arte, museos y demás espacios expositivos nacionales e internacionales. Partícipes activos en charlas, conferencias, comisariados y jurados. Recientemente han sido reconocidos con uno de los máximos galardones que otorgan los ADG-FAD, el Grand Laus Audiovisuals y resultaron finalistas en los ADC*E Best of European Design and Advertising Awards 2012.
